Taylor Swift — Lover or Bad Blood?

Writer’s note: Taylor’s time of birth is disputed as being either around 5am or 8am (I used the 5am birth time). Due to this, I have italicized any parts of the article that are based on her time of birth.

Taylor Swift is a celebrity that I have wanted to profile for a while. There are so many different areas that I could focus on (where her talents really lie, her tendencies in relationships, etc.), but I will be focusing on her persona for this article. Depending on who you ask (her fans or haters), her reputation could range from America’s sweetheart to possible Antichrist. It seems like with each passing year, there has been another enemy for Taylor (Katy Perry, her ex’s, Nikki Minaj, Justin Bieber, Kanye West, Kim Kardashian, Scooter Braun), Yet, there have also been some sweet moments: her reconciliation with Katy Perry, her friendship with Selena Gomez that has lasted years and album eras.

No matter the doubts about Taylor, she has found ways to rise above it. Haters tarnished her reputation; she boomeranged the narrative to her side and released Reputation. In 2019, she had new drama with Scooter Braun and her old label in addition to her singles not landing in the charts the way they used to; she released another #1 album with Lover. Her latest movie Cats was arguably a disaster, but Taylor’s part was frequently described as one of the only good parts of the movie. And now with her documentary, Miss Americana, coming out on Netflix on January 31st, Taylor is giving the public the most personal view of her life yet. There have been some articles released about what this documentary will reveal. I wonder though whether Miss Americana will reveal who the real Taylor is. She is definitely a self-proclaimed archer but is she a lover or a fighter; is she real or fake?. And if she is negative, why is that the case? Does she play the victim; are her new found activist voice and humanitarianism real? Who is the Taylor behind the polarizing figure she is to the public?

I am chiseling away the possible truth astrologically.

First things first — Taylor is a self-proclaimed Archer (her sun sign is Sagittarius), but she is more of a Scorpio when you really look at her astro chart. Her rising sign is Scorpio. The planet that rules Scorpio (Pluto) is in Scorpio which makes that sign have an even stronger influence in her chart. Unlike the brash, outgoing Sagittarius, Taylor is more introspective and possibly shy — based on the ruling planet of her ascendant (Pluto again) being in her 12th house.

Based on my findings of her astro chart, just like most people, Taylor has her bad and good sides. Let’s explore each, and see which side she is more of.

The placement of Taylor’s planets hold some insight into some of her negative aspects, including the planets that are in her Stellium.

With her Sun in Sagittarius, Taylor’s bluntness and impatience can unknowingly hurt others who are more sensitive.

Taylor’s Moon in Cancer makes her pick up negative vibrations from others.

Her Mars (in Scorpio and conjunct Ascendant) makes cooperation difficult for her.

Saturn can be known as the “serious” planet and Taylor’s is amplified in certain ways; it is in the sign it rules (Capricorn) and in her Stellium. This could make her lack sensitivity and a sense of humour, pessimistic, and prone to depression and anxiety (especially after a setback).

Her Uranus makes her prone to dominating her loved ones, and have a temper when she is blocked from doing what she wants (note to Scooter or anyone that has defied her).

The reoccurring “victimhood” that Taylor’s critics talk about comes from her Neptune and possibly South Node. Neptune is in her Stellium as well, so that brings more attention to that planet. Taylor’s Neptune can lead to her feelings easily getting hurt, and playing the victim to get sympathy. Her South Node in Leo could mean being a drama queen and attention seeker is her comfort zone.

Taylor’s Pluto can make her emotionally intense, and possibly ruthless with bottled up resentment.

Taylor’s Chiron (her astro wound so to speak) is in Cancer which makes her feel like an outsider.

If you have a critical view of Taylor, then what I described above probably confirms your suspicions of her, but fear-not Swifties — Taylor has good qualities. Her planet placements indicate this. However, Taylor is repressed as well in certain areas. This is shown in her chart through her intercepted planets and stellium planets. Her North Node and healing her astro wound (Chiron) are both about breaking those repression roadblocks.

Taylor’s Sun in Sagittarius may make her brash but it also gives her acceptance of others which allows her to work well with others; her Midheaven aspects also allow her to work well with others through her communication skills.

Her Venus in the 3rd house makes her charming; her Mars in Scorpio makes her trustworthy; her Uranus conjunct Neptune makes her kind with good intentions.

Her intercepted Mercury makes her feel misunderstood with her peers and gives her different thinking skills.

Her Natal Jupiter Retrograde and Intercepted Uranus give her a hesitation of sharing her opinion or humanitarianism for fear of negative public reaction.

Her Natal Jupiter Retrograde gives her a need to develop a broad philosophy of life and discover truth.

The Saturn in her Stellium makes her sensitive to others’ problems.

Her Uranus conjunct Neptune allows her to relate to and be friends with people from different backgrounds.

Taylor’s tendency to play the victim could have a purpose. Her Chiron is in the 8th house which could make her good at spotting manipulators and also prone to being betrayed.

Taylor’s Neptune could be the cause of portraying herself as a victim but it also gives her good qualities — it makes her generous, compassionate, empathetic, forgiving and able to see others’ potential.

Taylor Swift — the Advocate?

People might question whether this new version of Taylor that speaks up about issues is the real Taylor or just a ploy to garner more fans. According to what I have seen in her chart, it comes from a real place. It’s the Taylor that has been hiding all along.

Taylor is a part of the generation of people, born between 1988–1997, that have Uranus-Neptune conjunctions in their Stelliums. These people are sensitive to society’s decaying institutions [source link], and those with stelliums in Capricorn (like Taylor) usually come into their own around age 28–29 (their Saturn return) — which is coincidentally around the same time of the Lover era.

Taylor’s Midheaven is in Virgo which is about improving existing situations. Her North Node in Aquarius means her soul mission is to be an activist/humanitarian. With her North Node also being in her 3rd house, she is meant to express this soul mission through her writing and artistry (aka music). Her soul journey involves getting past her fear of speaking up and communicating her unique viewpoints. How she has started to speak up about social issues could be just the beginning; Taylor may have even more unique ideas about humanity to share.

Taylor Swift is a case in point that people aren’t all positive or all negative. Most of us are both, and every day we choose which version of ourselves we want to show in the world. She is a bit feisty and a whole lot of emo underneath — but who isn’t sometimes or most times? Based on what I have found, I do think how Taylor is portraying herself is true (and that she isn’t a horrible person). She may not show all her layers. At the end of the day, it’s her right and choice as to what from her self and life she wants to show.

It will be interesting to compare these findings with what is revealed in Miss Americana. Feel free to comment below.
